I walked
where city lights
conspired to
eclipse the stars.
But, Lord! Hung high
above them all,
pulsing in the southern void,
there burned
the fiery mountings
of Orion’s
thrice-nailed belt.

I love the imagery Dafydd of pulsing, fiery stars so clear above the ordinary street lighting, as if the eternal blacksmith had hammered them in their places, sparks and all! I enjoy searching for Orion and his beautiful belt! Diolch am rannu.

Thank you, Gill. I have to post a few quite short items for the next few weeks – and ‘Victor’ is very short indeed! Your imagery is striking, too – ‘as if the eternal blacksmith had hammered them in their places, sparks and all!’ That’s lovely. Got to love Orion, standing so bravely up there.

I gasped in delight at this. So much in so few words.

Thank you, Jacydo! One for the star-struck (may their tribe increase) 🙂 I have to post short pieces only for the next four weeks or so.
